Festival Brings Music with a Message
Local Volunteers Gearing up for the East Tennessee Franklin Graham Festival at the Thompson-Boling Arena, April 25-27
KNOXVILLE, Tenn., March 4, 2008—Volunteers representing hundreds of churches from across the Knoxville area are helping to lay the foundation for the East Tennessee Franklin Graham Festival, scheduled for April 25-27 at the Thompson-Boling Arena, on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
"Everyone is invited to this event," said Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the international Christian relief organization Samaritan's Purse. "There are art festivals, music festivals and food festivals-why not have a festival for the soul?"
Each night of the three-day event at the Thompson-Boling Arena, Franklin Graham will present an encouraging message with the help of top musical guests and a choir comprised of hundreds of local volunteers from a variety of area churches. The festival includes a special Saturday morning "Xtreme Kidz-LIVE" event for children and a Student Night youth event on Saturday evening.
