Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Announces Metro Maryland Franklin Graham Festival 2006
Franklin Graham Festival Scheduled for June 2006 at Camden Yards
Baltimore, Md., June 17, 2006—The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) announced today that Franklin Graham, along with local church and civic leaders, will hold the Metro Maryland Franklin Graham Festival 2006 at Camden Yards in June 2006.
“I look forward to bringing a message of hope to Baltimore,” said Graham, who recently accepted local church leaders’ invitation to lead the Festival. “People will hear a lot of music from award-winning artists, personal testimonies, and most importantly, an opportunity to accept a challenge that will change their lives.”
Clergy and church leaders from the Greater Baltimore area attended the Festival announcement meeting today at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. Mr. Thomas Schetelich of Ferguson, Schetelich & Ballew, P.A. was named chairman of the Festival Executive Committee and will oversee the year-long preparation process.
“I am deeply grateful for Franklin Graham’s acceptance of our invitation to come to Baltimore,” said George Raduano, senior pastor of Trinity Assembly of God. “There is no doubt in my mind that the spiritual climate of our city and surrounding counties will be impacted dramatically.”
The General Festival Committee, comprised of local volunteers from the Greater Baltimore area, will assist in the planning and operation of the Metro Maryland Franklin Graham Festival. For several months, Baltimore pastors and church leaders have urged Franklin Graham to conduct a Festival in their region.
All Festival programs will be open to the public and free of charge.
Since 1989, Franklin Graham has held an average of seven Festivals each year as an evangelist for the BGEA. Graham is president and CEO of the organization and continues to travel the world as president of the international Christian relief organization Samaritan’s Purse.
2005 Franklin Graham Festivals include Australia, Paraguay, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Shreveport, La.
