Int’l TV Host Shares Inspiring Stories of Some of Her Favorite Guests in Her Debut Book
Joni Lamb, Co-Founder of the Fastest Growing Faith-Based Television Network in the World, Tells Readers How to Find Peace, Power and Purpose "Surrender All" Nationwide Release: Sept. 2008 - Doubleday Publishing
DALLAS, May 29, 2008—For the first time, Joni Lamb, international, faith-based television host, wife and mother, reveals her personal struggles, triumphant surrender to God and stories from some her favorite guests-the ordinary to extraordinary-on their paths of surrender.
Joni never imagined the purpose and peace she would find once she surrendered. As a young girl in South Carolina she surrendered to God after a tough, romantic break up; 25 years later, she hosts two TV shows on the world's second largest faith-based television network that she co-founded.
"It would have been easy to surrender if I could have peered through the telescope of time and viewed my future family, a worldwide ministry where I would sing and share the love of God while encouraging people and giving hope to those who are hurting. But, I did not have that privilege. God wants to see if we are willing to surrender when we have no idea what the future holds." (p. 26)
Joni weaves her personal stories of surrender throughout those of guests she's interviewed on her show, including:
- Pat Summerall, NBC sportscaster, who surrendered after an intervention and treatment at the Betty Ford Center, where only two books are allowed-one is the Bible.
"I knew what they were talking about when they said ‘reborn' or ‘born again.' I realized what it was all about."
- Pam and Bob Tebow, missionaries who served in the Philippines, parents of the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner. Weeks after contracting amoebic dysentery, Pam discovered she was pregnant. Doctors urged her to have an abortion due to the affects the drugs had on the fetus; she surrendered her pregnancy to God's control.
"Twenty years later, Pam and Bob Tebow stood on a stage in New York City with that child, as he thanked Jesus Christ "my Lord and Savior" after becoming the youngest person ever to win the Heisman Trophy." (p. 146)
Published by Double Day, and scheduled for release Sept. 2008, Surrender All provides heart-warming, personal stories and instruction to finding your purpose and true peace.
