Sports Heroes Awarded for More Than Athletic Ability
May 12: CBS Basketball Analyst Clark Kellogg and Women’s Basketball Gold Olympian Tamika Catchings Inducted into Hall of Faith
XENIA, Ohio, April 24, 2012—Often shooting percentage, speed, time, wins or pins are what get athletes recognized. But it's the intangibles of an athlete's on- and off-court attitude that are recognized at this year's 7th annual Night of Champions.
Hosted by the international sports ministry Athletes in Action, the Night of Champions features inductions into the Athletes in Action "Hall of Faith." The award is presented annually to one male and one female from the world of sports who best exemplify outstanding character, leadership and faith - whether on the court, in the home or in the community. The 2012 "Hall of Faith" inductees are:
Clark Kellogg - CBS College Basketball lead analyst, former NBA player and former Ohio State University Basketball MVP
Tamika Catchings - 2011 WNBA MVP and USA Basketball gold medalist
Kellogg and Catchings will join the ranks of past "Hall of Faith" inductees including John Wooden (2007), Kay Yow (2006), Anthony Munoz (2006), Ruth Riley (2009) and others.
WHEN:
Saturday, May 12 at 7 p.m. ET
WHERE:
Athletes in Action World Headquarters
Schindler Banquet Center
651 Taylor Drive, Xenia, Ohio
