Volunteers from 600 Local Churches Preparing for the Festival of Hope with Franklin Graham at Charrua Stadium in Montevideo March 19-21
MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay, March 20, 2009—Joined by high-energy musical artists and supported by volunteers from 600 local churches, Franklin Graham is coming to Uruguay to bring a message of hope and encouragement March 19-21 at Charrua Stadium in Montevideo.
"Everyone is welcome," said Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the international relief organization Samaritan's Purse. "Our hope is that anyone in Uruguay who is struggling with questions about life or would like a new beginning will come to this Festival of Hope."
The Festival of Hope is a three-day event featuring nightly messages from Graham, coupled with energetic and inspirational music from popular Christian artists including Lily Goodman, Marcos Vidal, Los Del Camino, Dennis Agajanian with the Gutierrez Brothers, the Tommy Coomes Band, along with local musicians and a 400-voice choir made up of volunteers from churches across the region.
All Festival programs will be open to the public and free of charge.
Since 1989, Franklin Graham has held an average of seven Festivals each year as an evangelist for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
The Festival of Hope in Uruguay will be Graham's first event in 2009. Additional Franklin Graham events will be held in Tallinn, Estonia (May 29-31); Baton Rouge, Louisiana (July 18); St. Louis, Missouri (Aug. 2); Quad Cities, Illinois/Iowa (Aug. 8); and Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota (Aug. 16).
